S southwest Alaska has many attractions Alaska is the largest of all the fifty United States and consists of five regions: the south-west, south-central, the Inside Passage, the Interior and Far North. The Aleut people have lived in these regions since the second ice age. Immediately after the start of the Alaska Peninsula, the islands begin their 1000-mile stretch in Asia. These islands are also home to many wildlife refuges. Visitors can reach the port of Unalaska or Dutch Harbor with a scheduled flight from Anchorage, and there is also a popular method of taking the ferry from Kodiak Island. It is said that Dutch Harbor lead the nation and the values for the quantities of fish caught.
